According to a survey carried out in 2020 by the Pew Research Centre in India, approximately 35 percent of the respondents reported that sons and daughters should bear equal responsibility in caring for parents as they age. By contrast, during the same time period, only one percent of respondents felt that daughters alone should bear the sole responsibility in caring for her parents.
