According to a survey carried out in 2020 by the Pew Research Centre in India, approximately 64 percent of the respondents reported that sons and daughters should have equal rights relative to inheritance from the parents. By contrast, during the same time period, only two percent of respondents felt that daughters alone should have rights when it comes to inheritance.
