K-pop group BTS' live stream event, 'SOWOOZOO Muster,' attracted 1.33 million paid viewers globally over two days in June 2021, beating the total viewership of their previous virtual event 'Map of Soul On:E' held in 2020. BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys) hosted several pay-per-view live stream concerts during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic following the cancelation of their tour. The shows were notable at the time for breaking the record for the highest number of viewers of a paid live stream concert.
The 2021-2022 'Permission to Dance on Stage' series saw the band return to performing in front of in-person audiences together with a paid live stream option. One of the biggest of these shows was in Seoul in 2022, where in addition to the in-person audience, 1.02 million paid viewers watched online over two days.
