In 2022, there were approximately 25.02 million online sports bettors in the United States. This figure was forecast to rise to 36.9 million by 2025. Sports betting became legal in the United States in May 2018. Many states have since legalized online sports betting, however, regulations vary from state to state, with some still prohibiting the activity.
