On September 24, 2022, 58 percent more Russian speakers publicly posted, reposted, or commented on Telegram than on February 24, 2022, the day when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. After Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram, as well as Twitter, were blocked in the country in February and March 2022, the number of active Russian-language authors on these platforms significantly decreased.
