In 2022, around 2.7 million metric tons of cocoa beans were exported from Africa. Compared to 2021, the volume decreased, as a peak of nearly three million metric tons was registered that year. Between 2014 and 2022, cocoa bean exports from Africa generally fluctuated. The continent is the leading producer of cocoa beans worldwide.
