Phosphate extraction in Morocco reached nearly 24 million metric tons in 2022. This was a slight decrease compared to the previous year. The mining center of Khouribga accounted for the largest extraction in the country. Moreover, Morocco was the main producer of phosphate worldwide in 2023, after China.
