Population who attended school and worked Indonesia 2023, by gender and province

In 2023, over 16 percent of Indonesian men and ten percent of women aged 10 to 24 in the Special Region of Yogyakarta attended school and worked at the same time, indicating the highest shares among the other provinces. It was followed by Papua, with around 14 percent male and 11 percent female students, respectively. In every province, there were more Indonesian men who had to work and study at the same time. However, the number of Indonesian women who had to do housework and study at the same time was significantly higher than Indonesian men. Until today, housework is still not considered work, despite the fact that it affects women's economic security. The value of work is still determined by the level of income.
