In 2022, the highest ten percent of income earners received 32 percent of the total national income before income redistribution. After redistribution, this decreased by seven percentage points to 25 percent of the total income. The lowest 50 percent income earners in the Netherlands earnerd 19 percent of total income before income redistribution, which increased to 29 percent after redistribution.
Income redistribution includes other taxes such as VAT and excise taxes, as well as expenditure on education and healthcare.
