In March 2023, during the Russo-Ukrainian war, 73 percent of respondents in Poland believed in the involvement of NATO allies in defending Polish borders if threatened. Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty states that an attack on any NATO country is tantamount to an attack on the entire Alliance.
