In 2021, staff retention was challenging for home care providers in England. According to this survey conducted from September to October 2021, the main reasons for challenging staff retention stated by domiciliary care providers were the better pay, conditions, and the feelings of burn out and stress. In this survey, roughly 30 percent of responding home care providers believed that the better remuneration elsewhere outside of the care sector was the main reason for challenging staff retention.
