On March 18, 2022, abnormally high temperatures were recorded in Antarctica. The warmth experience by the coldest region on the planet was attributed to a massive heat wave. Vostok, the Russian meteorological observatory recorded a temperature of minus 17.7 degrees Celsius on that day.
