Monthly minimum wage in Egypt 2012-2023
The national minimum wage for permanent workers in both the private and public sectors in Egypt reached 2,700 Egyptian pounds taking effect as of January 1st, 2023, which is about 87.4 U.S. dollars. This was an increase from 2,400 Egyptian pounds (comparable to 77.67 U.S. dollars) in 2022.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, declared raising the minimum wage for the employees in the governmental sector to 3,000 Egyptian pounds (97.1 U.S. dollars) in late October 2022.
