In 2021, Costa Rica and Panama had the highest e-commerce penetration rates in Central America, reaching 70 percent and 55 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, this figure was just under 50 percent in the Dominican Republic, 28 percent in Guatemala, and 20 percent in El Salvador.
