Renewable energy investment in Africa amounted to 55 billion U.S. dollars between 2010 and 2020. This corresponded to 2.4 percent of the global investment in renewable sources. Although the share has increased from 0.8 percent in the previous decade, the continent still records a small participation in the world's commitments into renewable energy.
