Saving behavior of Russians before and during the war in Ukraine 2022
Before the change in the socio-economic situation in Russia at the end of February and the beginning of March 2022, caused by the invasion of Ukraine and subsequent sanctions on Russia, approximately seven out of ten survey participants set aside a part of their income, whilst the other 30 percent spent all their earnings without saving. After the socio-economic changes, the share of people making savings notably increased.
