As of 2023, the two regions of Grand Est and Burgundy-Franche-Comté produced approximately 1.6 billion euros worth of paper and paperboard. The regions of New Aquitaine and Occitania followed with a production value of almost 1.3 billion euros. These two conglomerates of regions were also the main paper and cardboard producers in France in 2023.
