Television was the device that had the highest share of access amongst households with minors in Mexico in 2020, above 80 percent regardless of the educational level of the head of the family. It is seen that the higher the educational level of the head of the household, the higher the access to information and communication technology. In the case of access to TV, computer, cellphone and internet, only 7.5 households whose head has no education had access to it, whereas in those with higher education the share stood at 75.6 percent. Regarding ethnicity, indigenous households with children had less access to these devices. Therefore, students in indigenous families and in families where the head has low level of education are in disadvantage when it comes to distance learning, which became widespread after the COVID-19 outbreak.
