According to the 2021 study, 792,000 metric tons of used cooking oil (UCO) was expected to be collected in Europe in 2020. Between 2011 and 2019, figures increased by 750,000 metric tons. UCO is used as a biofuel feedstock, and can be collected from the food processing industry, restaurants, fast foods, and households.
