Sales of Huawei smartphones in Russia were reported to have tripled in the period from February 28 to March 13, 2022 compared to the previous two weeks. Devices of other brands from China, such as Oppo, Vivo, ZTE, and Realme, also saw a significant increase in sales. According to the source, there was a shortage of Xiaomi smartphones from the end of 2021. An increase in sales could be related to the fact that at the beginning of March 2022, Apple and Samsung suspended supplies of their electronics to Russia in response to its military invasion of Ukraine that started in February 2022.
