In that year, the Asian country imported over 553,000 metric tons of the mineral, with a value of nearly 534 million U.S. dollars. Ranking second was the United States that year, which imported some 449 million U.S. dollars of artificial graphite. That year, China was the top exporting country of artificial graphite worldwide.
