Porcelain, jade, and curio lots represented more than 31 percent of all lots sold at art and antique auctions in mainland China in 2021. Chinese paintings and calligraphy of all periods contributed a similar number of sold lots in the same year, while achieving significantly higher total sales. Although stamps and coins only generated only three percent of the overall revenue in the cultural relic auction market, more than 38,000 stamp and coin lots were auctioned in 2021, ranking it one of the most important categories in the Chinese auction industry.
