EU27: Car purchasing intention by vehicle type and living area

In 2022, fully electric vehicles were not as popular among European respondents living in rural areas, compared to a quarter of participants living in cities reporting intentions of buying this vehicle type. This is in part due to charging infrastructure being more accessible in metropolis with a higher urban population. The European electric vehicle charging system market is forecast to reach over 24.9 billion U.S. dollars by 2028.
