China is the world's leading importer country of propylene, also known as propene. In 2023, the East Asian country imported 2.4 million metric tons of the hydrocarbon, with a value of over 2.1 billion U.S. dollars. Ranking second, but by a wide margin, was Germany, which imported nearly 621.43 million U.S. dollars of propylene. That year, the Netherlands was the top exporting country of propylene worldwide, with an export value that amounted to some 814.44 million U.S. dollars.
