The Rio Tinto Group is an multinational mineral exploration, development, production and processing corporation. It is headquartered in London, UK. In 2023, the company generated some 6.7 billion U.S. dollars of revenue from its copper segment, a slight decrease in comparison to the previous year.
Rio Tinto's Copper segment is involved in the mining and refining of copper, silver, gold, molybdenum, and other by-products. It is also involved in exploration activities with the Simandou iron ore project, which is the responsibility of the Copper product group chief executive.
