In 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak had a negative effect not only on international but on domestic tourism as well. Consequently, the number of domestic tourist arrivals at accommodation establishments in Budapest decreased during the spring of 2020 and remained relatively low throughout the year.
