Most common reasons for purchasing earthquake insurance in Japan 2021
The leading reason for purchasing earthquake insurance in Japan was to prepare for damage to household goods, a survey conducted from July to August 2021 found. While about 53 percent of the respondents took out earthquake insurance to protect household goods, around 45 percent purchased insurance because of the increased risk of earthquakes.
