Ukraine: population by region 2022

The Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine was the most populated region of the country as of February 1, 2022, with approximately 4.1 million inhabitants. It was followed by the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which had a population of around 3.1 million. Nearly three million people resided in Kyiv, the capital city.
