According to a survey in 2020 among Chinese alcohol consumers, around 44.5 percent of female respondents from South China said that they drink beer. In comparison, only 28.2 percent of women from central China region were beer drinkers.

The survey is conducted among respondents who come from Yangtze Delta, Pearl River Delta, The Jingjinji Metropolitan Region, and Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.
