As of 2019, more than 640 hubs in Africa supported technology-based startups. Compared to 2016, the number increased considerably from 314 hubs. Nigeria had the highest number of active tech hubs, amounting to 90. South Africa and Egypt followed, with 78 and 56 hubs, respectively.
