Around six percent of the value of venture capital (VC) deals closed in Africa between 2014 and 2020 were seed stage deals. In addition, series A transactions accounted for 21 percent of the deal value, while 22 percent were series B deals. In contrast, seed funding attracted the highest number of VC deals in the same period.
