Yearly growth in global downloads of most popular Android app categories 2021

In 2021, tool apps saw a global increase in downloads from the Google Play Store of almost 50 percent compared to the previous year. Finance apps also experienced an increase in yearly downloads, with users worldwide amassing more than four billion downloads of finance apps, up by 33 percent compared to 2020. In 2021, photo and video apps saw approximately six percent fewer downloads compared to the previous year.
