According to a survey from December 2021, 60 percent of the respondents in Vietnam preferred virtual influencers who looked Vietnamese, whereas 18 percent in Malaysia preferred virtual influences who looked ethnically different. Meanwhile, nearly three out of four respondents in Thailand stayed neutral on the ethnic appearance of virtual influencers.
