Norway NATO perception of membership 2024

As of October 2024, a large majority of Norwegians think that Norway's membership in the military alliance NATO strengthens the country's security. 80 percent of respondents had this opinion. In the Norwegian parliament, only the two left-wing parties - the Socialist Left Party and the Red Party - are of the opinion that Norway should leave the military alliance. The Scandinavian country has been a NATO member since the alliance was founded in 1949.
