Gustavo Petro led the Colombian presidential race according to a survey carried out between January 26 and February 2, 2022. The founding leader of the left political organization Colombia Humana and former major of Bogotá was particularly popular among Colombians of a high socioeconomic status, 31 percent of whom intended to vote for him. Rodolfo Hernández gathered a similar intention vote across all social classes, although slightly larger among the lower class. Both Petro and Hernández have been gaining popularity in opinion polls during the past months.
