The United Kingdom's natural gas storage amounted to some 5.71 terawatts hour (TWh) on October 1, 2024, accounting for 57.93 percent of technical storing capacity. The UK's quarterly gas storage volume reached a peak in January 2021, with some 13.25 TWh of natural gas in supply, the highest figure registered since 2012. Nevertheless, storage capacities in the UK are notably lower than in other European countries.
