Capacity of nuclear power plants in Ukraine 2022

Ukraine had four operable power plants as of 2022, the largest of which by capacity was the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station in Enerhodar, at 6,000 megawatts. On March 4, 2022, the Zaporizhzhia Power Plant was attacked by Russian forces and caught fire. No elevated radiation levels were reported.

Nuclear power generation in Ukraine

In total, Ukraine has 15 nuclear reactors in operation.It also has two more reactors under construction and four permanently shut down. The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and the ninth-largest worldwide. It has six reactors with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts each.
