Meta defines Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB) as "coordinated efforts to manipulate public debate for a strategic goal." At the beginning of 2022, Meta reported that half of the CIB networks disrupted between 2017 and the end of 2021 targeted users in the networks' home countries with disinformation. By comparison, 34 percent of all the disrupted CIB networks removed from Meta-powered platforms in the examined period targeted foreign countries.
