In Italy, national efficiency premiums are the amounts that producers pay out, in euros, through compliance schemes to municipal collection facilities, distribution collection points, and private collection facilities. Good operating conditions must be met in order to receive the premiums. The Lombardy region has received the highest amount of premiums for the categories R1, R2, and R5 in 2020. Sicily, meanwhile, received more than 220,000 euros for the R3 category, which refers to the collection of monitors of any kind.
