In 2023 more than 12,800 gigawatt hours of electricity were sold to utility customers in Ghana. This was the highest volume of electrical energy supplied in the country since 2000. That year, the amount of electricity sold reached only slightly over 3.100 gigawatt hours. The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is the main public electricity retailer in Ghana.
