Both the OPEX and CAPEX models of new solar rooftop installation capacity in India experienced a mostly upward trend until June 2019. The OPEX model then showed a decline in 2021, when the installation capacity of solar rooftop in the South Asian country measured some 354 megawatts. On the other hand, the CAPEX model reached a peak in that year, at roughly 1,403 megawatts of installed solar rooftop capacity. This figure represents roughly 20 percent of the OPEX share of installed solar rooftop capacity in India in June 2021.
