As of 2020, Tanzania's cattle stock reached 28.3 million heads. In the previous year, 27.8 million heads of cattle were kept for breeding or raised either for meat or dairy production. In general, the Tanzanian cattle stock has increased since 2010. That year, there were roughly 19.2 million cattle heads in the country.
