As of 2023, Germany issued green bonds worth a total of approximately 287 billion U.S. dollars, making it the leading country in Europe for green bonds. Germany was followed in the top three for green bonds by France and the Netherlands, with 229 billion and 138 billion U.S. dollars, respectively.
