In April 2022, employees in the United Kingdom will see their National Insurance contributions rise by 1.25 percent, following the introduction of the Health and Social Care Levy, resulting in an additional yearly payment of 214 British pounds a year for someone earning an annual salary of 30,000 pounds. The levy was introduced to help fund health and social care in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will evolve into a separate tax from April 2023.
