That year, around 27,255 people died from this condition, also known as coronary heart disease, a heart condition characterized by narrowed heart arteries. Other significant causes of death in Cuba were lower respiratory infections, and cerebrovascular disease, with 25,329 and 13,287 reported deaths, respectively.
