Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Africa Re reached a shareholders' equity of just over one billion U.S. dollars that year. This was followed by Kenya Re and Zep Re (PTA Reinsurance Co), which had shareholders' equities valued at approximately 325 million and 295 million U.S. dollars, respectively.
