Ischaemic heart disease was the leading cause of death in Bolivia in 2019. In that year, around 96 people per 100,000 population had died due to this condition also known as coronary heart disease. Other prominent causes of death in the country that year were lower respiratory infections and strokes, which resulted in about 70 and 62.7 deaths per 100,000 population, respectively.
