Leading causes of death in Barbados 2019, by mortality rate
In 2019, the leading cause of death in Barbados was stroke. The condition, also known as cerebrovascular accident, caused nearly 134 deaths per 100,000 people that year. Other prominent causes of mortality in the Caribbean country were ischaemic heart disease and diabetes mellitus, with 124.6 and 90.6 deaths per 100,000 population reported, respectively.
