D&O insurance loss ratio in the U.S. 2018-2023
Between 2022 and 2023, the direct incurred loss ratio of directors and officers (D&O) insurance in the United States fell by approximately eight percent. In 2023, the loss ratio of D&O insurance in the U.S. was 60.4 percent, down from 68.7 percent a year earlier. This ratio represents the percentage of the insurer's income from premiums paid out to claimants. Meanwhile, the value of D&O premiums written during this period also fell.
