As of February 4, 2022, COVID-19 was involved in the deaths of 2,090 females and 1,680 males aged 85 years and above in Wales. Furthermore, 3,127 deaths involving COVID-19 were recorded overall among 74 to 84 year olds.
In England, the age group 80 to 89 years had the highest number of deaths involving COVID-19. The situation was similar in Scotland.
